KYLIE CATENA, an aspiring fiction writer currently working on a collection of short stories for publication. Kylie grappled with the impact of mental health within her family, motivating her to embark on a quest for knowledge, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Shippensburg University.
Guided by an innate drive to aid those in need, Kylie pursued a career helping both adults and children with disabilities.
Her path took an unexpected turn in 2018 when a debilitating back injury forced her to reassess her career. Wrestling with uncertainty, she bravely chose to pursue her lifelong passion for writing, a decision that has since transformed her life.
Currently enrolled in the University of Baltimore’s Creative Writing & Publishing Arts MFA program, Kylie is honing her craft with a determination fueled by empathy and a deep-rooted commitment to advocacy. Through her poignant prose, she delves into the realms of mental health, trauma, and resilience, drawing from her own experiences to shed light on often overlooked narratives.
When not penning her next masterpiece, Kylie finds solace in the company of her two beloved dogs, Charlie and Lucy, traveling, and photography. As she navigates the winding roads of academia and creativity, Kylie remains steadfast in her mission to empower others and foster a community of understanding and support.
